For those children who have not been granted a place in the integrated programme, or who live too far from La Celle St Cloud to commute everyday, there is an option of the “externé” programme.
Pupils attend their local French primary school for the French curriculum and come twice a week to Pasteur Primary School to join the pupils of the Integrated programme. Children taking this option have the benefit of instruction in a second language and making friends with other bilingual children, whilst benefiting from the proximity of their local French school.
It does require the availability of an adult to bring the child twice a week to La Celle St Cloud. We do recommend that, for afternoon classes, the children leave their French school at the end of the morning, have lunch at home before coming for their English lessons. This allows them to switch into English. Parents must maintain close contact with their child’s French teacher to ensure that any missed lessons are made up.
To attend the Externé programme, your child must attend a French public primary school and you must declare an address in the Yvelines (78). We cannot accept children following their French schooling in a private school (“sous contrat” or “hors contrat”).
