This programme offers 6 hours of English a week – 4 hours of English Literature & Language plus 2 hours of History/Geography and follows the official Section Internationale curriculum recognised by the French Ministry of Education. The students may obtain “Mention Internationale” for the Brevet (DNB) at the end of 3ème, last year of college (middle school). They also start the preparation for the IGCSE English Literature exam which they will sit at the end of 2nde (first year of high school).
This College programme is offered in two French public colleges situated to the west of Paris in suburbs surrounded by the forests of Fausses Reposes and Marly. Both colleges have excellent Brevet results.
College Pasteur in La Celle-Saint-Cloud is a small, family-oriented college with approximately 440 students and is part of the Groupe Scolaire with Pasteur Primary School. Pupils attending this school also come from Rueil-Malmaison, Bougival, Louveciennes & Vaucresson.
College Jean Baptiste de la Quintinye, Noisy le Roi is a larger college with approximately 660 students. Follow this link to have a virtual tour of the Collège.
It has excellent sports facilities and public transport links. The train L connects Noisy le Roi with Saint Nom la Bretèche, Mareil Marly and Saint Germain en Laye. Buses run from Versailles (17), Plaisir (20), Vaucresson (76), Marly le Roi (75) and Saint Cyr l’Ecole (77). There is also extensive ongoing work to connect Noisy le Roi and Bailly to Saint Germain en Laye (RER A) and Saint Cyr l’Ecole (RER C and trains to Montparnasse) with delivery dates expected 2021.
The college serves the towns of Noisy le Roi and Bailly; a little less well-known than La Celle-Saint-Cloud but both towns offer many activities (sports, cultural etc) in beautiful countryside, only 10 minutes from Versailles. The attached video will give you a taste of what Bailly can offer.
It also serves a wider area, including Maule, Crespières and Mareil sur Mauldre for some Section Internationale families as “dérogations” are available.
